Vanessa Turnbull-Roberts is a highly accomplished Human Rights advocate, lawyer and the Inaugural Commissioner for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People. Vanessa draws on her own experiences in Out of Home Care to inform her work as Commissioner and to advocate for First Nations’ self-determination. She is committed to amplifying the voices of Black Lives through her advocacy, particularly those of Indigenous children. She is a passionate campaigner for human rights, speaking on the global stage about the injustices confronting First Nations communities. Vanessa believes truth-telling lies at the heart of building a harmonious world shaped by collective action.
