Danielle Wood began her five-year term as Chair of the Productivity Commission on 13 November 2023, returning to the organisation where she started her career as a graduate.
She previously served as CEO of the Grattan Institute, where she also led the Budgets and Government Program. Her extensive advisory experience includes roles with the Australian Government’s Women’s Economic Equality Taskforce, the Jobs and Skills Australia Consultative Forum, and the Parliamentary Budget Office Expert Advisory Committee. She currently serves on the Competition Review Expert Advisory Panel.
A prominent leader in her field, Danielle is a former President of the Economic Society of Australia and co-founder of the Women in Economics Network. Her professional background also includes senior roles at the ACCC and NERA Economic Consulting. She holds an Honours degree in Economics from the University of Adelaide and Masters degrees in both Economics and Competition Law from the University of Melbourne.
