Elly Desmarchelier is a proud disabled woman and national disability rights campaigner who lives with physical disability and is neurodiverse. Determined to make a difference for the one in five Australians living with disability, Desmarchelier believes that change is only possible if people with disability have a seat at the table. In the lead up to the 2022 federal election, Desmarchelier was the national spokesperson for the Defend Our NDIS campaign. Her advocacy has seen her meet with the country’s leaders, attending the Prime Minister’s Jobs and Skills Summit and facilitating the NDIS Jobs Summit. Desmarchelier was a finalist in Marie Claire’s Women of the Year Awards, and has been featured in national publications and on TV.
