Major General Susan Coyle assumed her current appointment as Commander Forces Command – the largest command within the Australian Army, and responsible for approximately 50 percent of its personnel – in November 2022. She has worked at the tactical, operational and strategic level in a variety of appointments, and has commanded at every rank, including as Commander Joint Task Force 633 in 2020, where she controlled all ADF operations in the Middle East region, including oversight of over 1200 defence personnel, and for which she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia. Among her key staff appointments include Head Information Warfare, and Chief of Staff/Director Workforce and Behaviours.
