Shelley Ware is a proud Yankunytjatjara, Kokatha and Wirangu woman from Tandanya/Adelaide who currently lives in Naarm/Melbourne. She is a highly regarded AFL media presenter and columnist with more than two decades of experience in live television and radio for major commercial and Indigenous networks. In 2019, Ware was awarded ‘Football Women of the Year’ by the Essenden Women’s Network and remains the Chairperson of Carlton FC’s Reconciliation Action Plan. Shelley is also a teacher, author, and curriculum writer, who is passionate about embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture in classrooms. Shelley has been an Indigenous Literacy Foundation ambassador for 10 years and in 2024, she was a finalist for the NAIDOC Education award.
