As CEO of the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA), the Hon Mary Wooldridge is driving change in workplaces to ensure women and men are equally represented, valued and rewarded. Woolridge brings to the role a wealth of experience from a distinguished career in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
From 2006 to 2020 she served in the Victorian Parliament, including a term as Minister for Mental Health, Community Services and Women’s Affairs. As Minister, Wooldridge was instrumental in establishing Our Watch, the national family violence prevention agency. She also worked to implement the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children.
Wooldridge took the helm at WGEA in 2021. This year she oversaw its first ever public release of gender pay gap data on individual private sector employers, fuelling national discussion on gender equity in Australian workplaces.
