Susan Pearce AM, Secretary NSW Health since March 2022, oversees a system with over 180,000 staff and a $37 billion budget, providing world-class, patient-centred care. Previously Deputy Secretary, Patient Experience and System Performance, she directed NSW Health’s pandemic response as Controller of the State Health Emergency Operations Centre (SHEOC) and led the state's vaccine rollout.
Beginning her career as a registered nurse over 35 years ago in Broken Hill, Susan has continuously served NSW communities, including as NSW Chief Nurse. She holds qualifications in Law and was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in April 2023.
