Dr Angela Jackson, Commissioner Social Policy at the Productivity Commission, began her career as an economist at the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. She served as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Australian Finance Minister during the Global Financial Crisis, advising on fiscal and social policy. As an economic consultant, she has authored reports on health, aged care, disability, housing and gender policy.

Angela has held positions on various government bodies, including the Commonwealth Grants Commission, the Economic Inclusion Advisory Committee and Melbourne Health. She is currently the National Chair of the Women in Economics Network and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Tasmania.
