Taylah Gray, a proud Wiradjuri woman and former criminal defence lawyer, has become a prominent figure in the fight for Indigenous rights, capturing national attention. A trailblazer, she holds the distinction of being the first Indigenous student pursuing a law PhD at the University of Newcastle.
Currently serving as a sessional academic, Gray teaches Aboriginal Tertiary Studies through an alternative entry program. Simultaneously, she is dedicated to her own PhD research, focusing on Native Title and economic theories. Her work aims to foster economic growth and advocate for land reform within First Nations communities, showcasing Gray’s commitment to positive change.
